Who Are We?
Helping Hand
We are volunteers motivated by our internal sense of morality, and our belief in humanity. We provide toiletries and small items for on-the-street, on-the-go people: nail clippers, towelettes, toothbrushes and small tubes of toothpaste, mini-flashlights with batteries.
Our methods are straightforward. Through donations, we collect simple items that people experiencing homelessness need while they are living on the street, out of a tent, in a car, or in a shelter.
Some donations come from our Wish List at Amazon.com. We list items that are needed, and you may purchase them. They are mailed directly to us for distribution. Noting to remail!
We are Humanists and Atheists Helping the Homeless of Washington, DC (HAHHDC) and adjacent areas in Maryland and Virginia. We believe we can make a difference in our community. We believe that people who are homeless are just like you and us, but having a hard time for many possible reasons.
