The man on the left is a volunteer. He helps us distribute hygiene items to people experiencing homelessness. The man on the left is homeless. He has a family and an apartment in Virginia, but he has been looking for work in Washington DC. He had been sleeping in his car for a week or two, but then it was towed when he was out looking for a job. He’s still looking for work because he has a family to care for, but he has nowhere to sleep. When we spoke to him he said he was from Guatemala and hoped to find a better life for his family. He was pleasant and polite, but he must have felt awful inside.
