Get Involved with AHHDC!

Atheists Helping the Homeless, DC (AHHDC) is always excited for new help.

Everyone is welcome – all that is required is a willingness to make life better for those in need.

You can get involved in many ways:

In-person Volunteer Opportunities

  • Organize hygiene and food items.
  • Come to a distribution event. See our home page for the location, date, and time of the next one.
  • Participate in outreach events as they happen. Be an AHHDC Collector: collect items (anything you think we could distribute to help people in need) and give them to us to hand out!
  • Host pop-up fundraiser events. For example, your humanist group may host a one-time collection event for gently used socks.

Long-distance Volunteer Opportunities Computer Work

  • Offer feedback on the website. Could it be improved?
  • Identify and help plan for funding opportunities.
  • Spread the word! Tell family, friends, and acquaintances about our effort and our website!
  • Advocate for the homeless population in your community in any way that you can.

Donate

  • Purchase items for us which we will directly distribute, by visiting our Wal-Mart registry.
  • Donate funds, through our PayPal (or through any other methods at the top of this page), or Round Up your Wal-Mart bill.
    • 100% of your funds will go towards purchasing items for distribution events. You may also request that your donation be used for a specific item. Just let us!

Not sure where to start? Write to us to see how you can help, or to ask questions or give suggestions, by emailing us at atheistshelping@gmail.com.

Together we can make life better for people who are homeless.
